- BU Pumpkin Drop - October, the Physics Department launches dozens of pumpkins off the roof of the Metcalf Center.
- Conquering Rhett’s Challenge - Finish a triple bacon cheeseburger, order of fries, eight-scoop ice cream sundae, and a soda in under 30 minutes at Rhett’s GSU.
- Broomball - BU’s most popular intramural sport, is one part ice hockey, one part curling, one part golf, and several thousand parts fun!
BU Campus Culture:
BU has a long history dating back over 175 years. Its rich traditions and vibrant campus life have contributed to create a sense of community among students and alumni alike. BU has over 500 student clubs and also offers a study abroad program. With approximately 18,500 enrolled students BU does not have one campus culture it is very diverse but it’s nice that they offer a variety of campus activities as a way to meet and make new friends. Freshmen are required to live on campus, and about 80 percent of undergraduate students live on the main Boston campus, which lies along the Charles River.
BU offers Greek Life but most fraternity and sorority houses at BU are housed off-campus, and only about 20% of BU students are involved. It is not a real part of the campus culture.
Whether it’s participating in Terrier athletics, engaging in academic pursuits or enjoying the cultural offerings of Boston, there is no doubt that BU offers students a wealth of pastimes.
